Operating Room Nurse Manager

The Operating Room Nurse Manager is responsible for organizing nursing services and is accountable for the environment in which clinical nursing is practiced in the Surgical Department. As a member of the Nursing Management Team, the Manager of OR / Surgical Services ensures the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, programs and services consistent with the organization’s mission, goals and objectives.



Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Develops, interprets and enforces standards in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, Title XXII, and JCAHO.
  • Integrates nursing policies with organizational policies. 
  • Clinical Nurse Manager assumes twenty-four-hour responsibility for managing the human and material resources in order to provide quality patient care in an environment conducive to staff growth and satisfaction.
  • The Nurse Manager is accountable for ensuring staff provides age-specific nursing care for the patient population described in respective unit scope of services. 
  • Contribute to nursing and the hospital through support of the philosophy and objectives, educational efforts and research. 
  • As the OR manager, you will work with our customized medical information system that eliminates paper charts and replaces them with a single, electronic medical record. 
  • Each patient’s medical history can be traced from a doctor’s office to the emergency room or outpatient clinic - assuring that it is always correct and up-to-date.


Qualifications

Minimum Education: Graduate of an Accredited Professional School of Nursing. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.  

Minimum Experience: Three (3) years recent nursing clinical experience; One (1) year as a surgical services Supervisor or Charge Nurse, Demonstrated leadership skill and ability; current trends in patient care and healthcare delivery.

Req. Certification/Licensure: Current California RN License. Current American Heart Association (BLS), (ACLS) Certification.
