Charge RN - Perioperative Services

The Charge Nurse provides professional nursing care within the hospital. Coordinates care planning and implementation with other disciplines, for the Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, adult and older adult (Geriatric) patient.



Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Demonstrates Expertise in Management of and participation in Clinical Practice.
  • Demonstrates skill in Human Resource Management.
  • Demonstrates Leadership; Acts as Role Model for Professional Conduct.
  • Assists Nursing Director in ensuring unit compliance with accreditation body requirements, BMC standards, and policies and procedures.  
  • Assists with management duties in the absence of the Nursing Director.


Qualifications

Minimum Education: Graduate of an Accredited Professional School of Nursing A Bachelor of Science (BSN) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree.         

Minimum Experience: Two (2) or more years recent nursing clinical experience in an Acute Hospital setting. One (1) year of Charge RN experience preferred.

Req. Certification/Licensure: Current California RN license; American Heart Association (BLS), (ACLS). Current CPI Certification (within first six (6) months of employment); Medical / Surgical Review or equivalent (within first six (6) months of employment). AACN Medical / Surgical Certification preferred within five (5 )years in Charge Nurse role.
