Patient Transporter

The Patient Transporter is responsible for transporting patients via company vehicle to and from medical treatment centers. Under the general supervision of the director/manager, dispatches orderlies to transport patients within the hospital. 

Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Transport patients when necessary. 
  • Ensure that all equipment (wheelchairs, gurneys, walkers and pagers) is in clean, working condition. 
  • Maintain supply of oxygen cylinders.
  • Communicates with other departments to facilitate the transportation of patients in a safe, prompt, efficient and timely manner.


Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent.  

Minimum Experience: Previous experience in hospital preferred. 

Req. Certification/Licensure: Must have a valid driver’s license and American Heart Association (BLS) certification.
