Licensed Psychiatric Technician - BHU

Provides professional nursing care within an assigned medical unit. Coordinates care, planning, and implementation with other disciplines, for the adolescent, adult, and older adult (geriatric) patient.



Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Formulates the plan of care to address all identified nursing diagnoses / patient problems, in collaboration with appropriate multidisciplinary team members, and in accordance with hospital and department standards, policies and procedures. Assists team leaders in this process.
  • Documents the discharge planning process, patient / family conferences and interdisciplinary conferences.
  • Contributes to the interdisciplinary team evaluation and revision of care given by all healthcare team members.
  • Promotes the interests and well being of patients, and supports patients’ rights.


Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) or Arts (BA).

Minimum Experience: One to two (1-2) years recent nursing clinical experience in an acute hospital setting; One (1) year of acute care experience in psychiatric unit, preferred.

Req. Certification/Licensure: Active California LPT license; BLS; MAB or equivalent (within first six months of employment); Current American Heart Association (ACLS) Certification preferred.
