The Cook is responsible for preparing, and cooking  therapeutic diets  for patients and regular  cuisine for our employees and doctors. Servicing the cafeteria, working on tray line, stocking storage areas, preparing nourishment, dish washing and pot washing, mopping and sweeping of floors and emptying of trash as well as other related tasks. Observe department policies and procedures specially  infection control  practices, safety and established standards for food handling is a  must.



Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Responsible for overall assembly of patient trays and service of patients. Uses knowledge of modified diets to check accuracy of patient trays.
  • Observes policies and procedures  regarding personal hygiene, safety, and sanitation. Tally food items
  • Determines types and quantities of meats, vegetables and soups to be prepared by reviewing planned menus. Determines amounts of food needed.
  • Ensures meals  are ready at specified times
  • Must be able to check incoming merchandise against invoice.
  • Reports shortages, malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor
  • Sanitation tasks and other assignments as directed by management.


Qualifications

Minimum Education:  High School diploma.

Minimum Experience:  A minimum of one year as a Cook in an acute hospital setting.

Req. Certification/Licensure:  None.
