Charge RN - BHU

The Charge RN for BHU provides professional nursing care and oversight of co-workers and contract labor within the Behavioral Unit. Coordinates care planning and implementation with other disciplines, for the adolescent, adult and older adult (geriatric) patient.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Registered Professional Nurse who is responsible for the safety of the patient during their perioperative stay.
  • Accountable for the delivery of individualized nursing care to patients prior to and post surgical or procedural intervention.
  • Provides assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation activities for patients receiving OR, Cath Lab, and outpatient medication treatment regimens. Incorporating current clinical knowledge with established nursing practice, he/she performs nursing interventions utilizing the nursing process, while working with adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
  • Demonstrates skill in Human Resource Management.
  • Demonstrates Leadership; Acts as Role Model for Professional Conduct.


Minimum Education: Graduate of an Accredited Professional School of Nursing. Bachelor of Science (BSN) preferred.

Minimum Experience: Two (2) or more years recent nursing clinical experience in an acute hospital setting. One (1) year of Charge RN experience preferred.

Req. Certification/Licensure: Current California RN license. Current American Heart Association (BLS). Current CPI, MAB or NVCPI Certification.
